Ciudad Mañana

Organized by the Asociación Iberoamérica Diseña, the project “Ciudad Mañana / The City Tomorrow” is the theme of its 2025 edition, bringing together a selection of posters about the future of cities. The international event annually takes to the streets of Madrid projects by a hundred selected artists, in addition to a large exhibition at the century-old Escuela de Bellas Artes featuring all the posters sent from around the world. Printed in large format, the street exhibition integrates the city’s urban landscape between September and December, offering multiple reflections on the theme.

In a commentary on the growing proliferation of surveillance cameras in cities, the poster created by Rico Lins + Studio reflects on the cult of self-image and the fantasy of a labyrinthine ouroboros, where surveillance cameras multiply and control each other like in a hall of mirrors: a dizzying and paranoid circle that seems to have no end. Will these be the fifteen minutes of fame that the city reserves for its inhabitants tomorrow?

As a further development of the theme, a “tree of cameras” was also created, both animated versions for disseminating the project on digital media.
