Madrid Gráfica Aberta
As an integral part of the Madrid Open Graphics event, the City Council, Foro por Madrid, and Asociación Iberoamérica Diseña presented the exhibition “Imagined Words/Graphic Reading” at Matadero Madrid in 2024. Starting from a list of randomly defined words in Spanish or Portuguese, dozens of designers were invited to select one and create a poster using exclusively that chosen word.

The word OCTAHEDRON was my starting point for creating a composition with sample typefaces joined by a continuous line that forms the figure of an irregular octahedron.
Continuing the project, in 2025 I was invited to participate in the second exhibition of the series. This time I chose the word RAMONEAR — a Spanish verb meaning “to graze on the leaves and tips of branches of creeping plants” — as my starting point for creating a composition with letters formed from leaves and branches of shrubs drawn by animal bites.
The relationship between word and image is a central issue in the creation of a poster, and the project deals with this dialogue in a playful and unusual way.
